TUCSON RODEO PARADE TROPHY WINNERS
A Special Note About the Tucson Rodeo Parade Judging Criteria The Tucson Rodeo Parade offers three trophies each year to the premier winners in the parade. The rules of participation and list of judging requirements is given each year to all participants as they submit their entry application. At that time they also identify a category they feel their entry should be listed.
The Curt Sullivan Sweepstakes Award is given to the entry that the judges determine meets the overall qualifications for participation and is the best overall entry for that year.
The Chairman’s Award and Judges Award are given to those participants who exemplify the basic theme and category that they have declared as their chosen entry category.
In addition to the three major awards, there is a first and second place award given to each entry of a specific category. Winners of the three major awards are not eligible for an award in individual categories.
Judges decisions are based on how the entries show support of the spirit and theme of the parade (Western Heritage), the authenticity of the Old West, and values to keep the Old West alive in the hearts and minds of spectators. Included, but not exclusive in these decisions is the grandstand appeal, or spectator reaction to the entry. These subjective decisions are made based on adherence to the guidelines, rules and requirements for participation, and appeal of presentation.
