Horse Marshals/Color Guard

We are looking for folks who are interested and passionate about keeping the Tucson Rodeo Parade history going into the future. We need horse people who are willing to assist with security and crowd control on parade day. Being a horse marshal is serious work. We are not entries in the parade. Our job is to focus on the entries and crowd to ensure a safe and fun parade for the entrants and spectators. You will need a good solid horse and must come to at least one of the qualifying days. It is strongly recommended that you attend both events as it will help you and your horse prepare for the excitement and controlled chaos that is the parade. You do not need to own your horse, but you do need access to a horse that you can use for qualifying and parade day.  We do also need some folks on foot or in a UTV to assist on the parade route, so if you don’t have access to a horse, we can still use you. Also, everyone needs to be 18 or older.  Hope to see you there

Foot Marshals

As an important and valuable volunteer on Parade day, volunteering may consist of about a 6-hour morning, mostly standing and/or walking. You are assigned and teamed up with a Team Captain, alongside other volunteers in your group. Foot Marshals may have to communicate with parade spectators, guiding, assisting, answering questions, traffic control, directing public to the parade location, grandstands, lineup area, or staging areas of the parade. Also communicating with Parade Horse Marshals, Tucson Police, and or Security and members of the Tucson Rodeo Parade Committee.  It’s a fun, eventful and memorable day. We hope you’ll consider joining us and making history with us!!

Tickets/Usher/Security

Looking to help out? We are always looking for high quality volunteers to assist with making this historical event a success and to ensure our patrons have a wonderful experience at the Tucson Rodeo Parade.  Grandstand ticket takers are responsible for greeting guests as they arrive and ensuring all purchased tickets are scanned and guests are directed to the grandstand area for seating. Parade Ushers are responsible for managing seating sections, greeting guests, providing directions, and resolving challenges as they arrive. You must be able to stand for approximately 3-4 hours without assistance. Come on out if you're looking for an exciting and engaging experience and become a part of a Tucson tradition.

Tucson Wagon & History Museum Docent

Welcome to the Tucson Wagon & History Museum, where history comes to life through a captivating journey across our four historic buildings. Home to nearly 90 meticulously preserved wagons, intriguing displays of local historic businesses, and an impressive model train layout, our museum offers a rich tapestry of Tucson’s heritage.

We invite passionate individuals to join our dedicated team of docents, who guide visitors through our exhibits, sharing stories and insights that bring the past to life. If you prefer hands-on work, there are opportunities to engage in the upkeep and repair of our wagons, as well as in the construction of dynamic displays. For those interested in supporting our operations behind the scenes, we offer roles in front desk management, gift shop assistance, clerical tasks, and outreach programs.

Our museum is fully ADA accessible, and we pride ourselves on being patient and welcoming to new volunteers. Whether you’re excited to interact directly with visitors or contribute through support roles, we offer a rewarding environment where your enthusiasm for history can flourish. Join us in preserving and sharing Tucson’s vibrant history while making a meaningful impact in our community.
